Funerals

From the First Breath to the final farewell with heart and spirit

Pay tribute to your loved one with a custom, heartfelt funeral or memorial that is both beautiful and unforgettable.

When a loved one passes, you may seek the guidance of a celebrant to help plan and deliver a meaningful funeral service. By choosing me, you can be assured of a professionally written ceremony that thoughtfully honour your loved one’s life, character, and passions.

Each funeral service I create is entirely bespoke. I will support you in selecting music, poetry, readings, or prayers that best reflect your loved one’s essence. The service can incorporate religious elements or remain entirely secular, depending on their beliefs and your wishes. Whether you prefer me to lead the entire service or facilitate the involvement of family and friends, I will ensure a smooth and heartfelt delivery.

If you do not reach out to me directly, your funeral director may make initial contact on your behalf. After confirming some essential details with them, I will arrange a meeting with you at a location of your choice—whether in the comfort of your home, at a café, a community hall, or another suitable setting.

Say Good-Bye, Your Way

Losing someone you love is hard, and making decisions during that time can feel overwhelming. Some people want a big celebration of life, while others prefer something quieter and more personal. There’s no right or wrong way—just what feels right for you and your loved ones.

That’s where I come in. As a Celebrant, I’ll sit with you, listen to your wishes, and help put together a ceremony that feels meaningful. Whether it’s a full burial service, a cremation ceremony, or scattering ashes in a special place, I’ll make sure it’s done with care and respect.

A Memorial Ceremony can also be a beautiful way to honour someone’s life after the funeral. It’s a chance for family and friends to come together, share memories, and celebrate the life they lived.

Some people like to plan their own farewell in advance. If that’s something you or a loved one would find comforting, I’m here to listen and help put those wishes into place, so everything is just as they’d like it to be.
Every life is special, and every goodbye should be too.
What is a Funeral Celebrant?
If you'd prefer a funeral ceremony which reflects your loved one and celebrates their life, you've come to the right place. I work with families who would rather take the focus off religion and instead zone in on their loved one. I focus on their character, relationships, achievements, and all of the things they enjoyed to do whilst they were here. This type of ceremony is perfect for those who are non-religious. Its also a great option if you're looking for a more human approach. Step away from the generic and experience a much more personal and bespoke ceremony.
I am here to provide you and your family with support during this challenging time. image
At the meeting please have with you anyone who you think might make a significant contribution in helping me understand the life of your loved one and what made them special. This would normally, but not exclusively, be close family members and/or close friends. If there are peopIe who you would like to be at the meeting, but they cannot make it then please either write their stories down in advance of meeting me, or ask them to email me their memories directly. It helps if people have thought about stories before they meet with me. I recognise that you are going through a very tough time and will deal with you and your families and friends in a professional and sympathetic manner. If anyone is emailing me, then please let me know so that, if I need to, I can check with you that the email has arrived. I may ask your permission to record the meeting as an aide memoire for my preparations. Any such recordings are deleted as soon as the eulogy has been confirmed.

At the meeting, I aim to get a clear understanding of who your loved one was. Some examples of information you might share with me are, stories about their passions and interests; the highlights of their life; their jobs and memorable holidays; things that made them laugh, and daily routines.
At the meeting we will also talk about some of the practicalities of the service – we will discuss any songs, hymns and music. We will come to decisions about any poetry or prose. We will also decide whether anyone in the family or friendship group will be participating directly in the service. On the day of the service, I will arrive in good time to greet you at the venue and will conduct the service in a professional and dignified manner.

If you have chosen a cremation service, then it might be that at some point in the future you wish to scatter your loved ones ashes at a special place or inter them in a family plot.

Should you wish a short ceremony for this, then please get in touch with me directly and we can arrange to do this. This is in addition to any previous service I have offered and is at a price of £70. My fees are inclusive of all travel (within 30 miles of Slough) preparation time and the actual service itself.
